Employee Feature - Michael Modolo

Michael’s story is proof that unexpected changes can lead to exciting new opportunities. After making a career shift during the pandemic, he found his way into insurance and hasn’t looked back since. With his hardworking background, genuine care for people, and down-to-earth personality, Michael brings a thoughtful and personal approach to helping clients protect what matters most - and we’re proud to have him as part of the Erion team.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Astronaut

How did you land in insurance? Everything, including my employer at the time, was shut down because of the pandemic. Luckily, there was a brokerage that was hiring people with no insurance experience: I made a move to an amazing profession that I continue to learn and grow in!

How do you take your coffee? I don't - only tea for me please!

What is your favourite pastime? I love to read, and I love to spend time with my family.

Do you have any hobbies or hidden talents? I'm fairly handy around the house. I worked in construction for a number of years and picked up some skills - and tools.

How would you describe your job to a 2nd grader? I am a helper who talks to families and businesses and helps them get protection plans. These plans can help pay for things if something bad happens - like if a car gets bumped, a house gets damaged, or someone gets hurt.

What is your favourite hangout spot in Niagara? I'm lucky enough to travel across Niagara a lot. I have a favourite spot in just about every city: don't be afraid to ask.
