Local Love: Howells Family Pumpkin Farm

The air is crisp, the leaves are changing, and Erion’s Ashely is getting ready for her annual family trip to Howells Family Pumpkin Farm! A Niagara treasure located in Fonthill, generations have been enjoying years of fun at Howells’ Fall Festival.

Activities

Offering a wide range of activities, you can enjoy train rides, a corn maze, tractor rides and an animal farm, to name just a few. The playground, sandboxes, and tricycle tracks are always a hit with the little ones. The pumpkin slingshot and apple cannon blasters are a favourite among kids and parents alike. Or you can get in the Halloween spirit with songs performed by the Skeleton Band and the Chicken Shows.

Food & Bevies

A festival wouldn’t be complete without some tasty treats. Ashley loves the many flavours of poutine they offer, including traditional, vegan, nacho, baked potato poutine and more! Howells' famous pumpkin donuts, made fresh daily, have been a long-standing favourite of visitors. Stop by the Beer & Wine Garden for some good drinks and good food (guests of all ages are welcome, but children must remain with caregivers at all times).

Camp Fires

Guests can enjoy the gorgeous fall season with their very own campfire. The private propane fire pit experience is designed for a memorable evening for up to ten guests. Don’t forget your roasting kit, which includes everything you need for roasting hotdogs and smores!

Sunflower Festival

Fall is not the only time you can enjoy Howells; they also have a Sunflower Festival in the spring! Over 100,000 blooms can be seen throughout their sunflower field, providing the perfect photo op.

So pack up the family and head to Howells Family Pumpkin Farm and enjoy an abundance of activities to keep the whole family entertained. This Niagara gem is not one to be missed!
