Two Determined Niagara Athletes Receive the Athletic Performance Training Grant
We’re thrilled to announce Giulia Ingribello and Layla Gallant as the 2025 recipients of the Erion Insurance Athletic Performance Training Grant. These young athletes demonstrate incredible drive, talent, and community spirit, and we’re honoured to support their athletic and academic journeys.
Giulia Ingribello
Giulia recently graduated from Saint Michael Catholic High School in Niagara and is now on her way to Brock University, where she’ll study Kinesiology and pursue soccer at the university level. Passionate about the sport since she can remember, Giulia currently plays centre-back at League 2 Women’s team at Club Roma, and looks forward to joining Brock’s soccer program in the fall. Giulia’s goal is to build physical and mental strength to excel at the next level - and this grant gives her that competitive edge.
A message from Giulia:
"My name is Giulia Ingribello, and I am incredibly honoured to have been selected as a recipient of the Erion Insurance Athletic Performance Training Grant. I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your generous support and share how meaningful this opportunity is to me.
I have just graduated from Saint Michael Catholic High school now moving onto post secondary at Brock University for Kinesiology. A big passion of mine has been soccer for as long as I can remember, I'm currently playing on the league 2 women's team at Roma and am hoping to further my soccer journey at Brock University this upcoming season. That's why this grant has been so appreciated, helping me strengthen my body physically and mentally for teams like that.
This training grant is making a tremendous difference in my journey. It has provided me not only with the financial means to get to where I want to be physically, but also with the motivation and affirmation that others believe in the work I am pursuing. Iron truly has an amazing driven team that pushes you to your full potential.
Thank you again for your generosity and commitment to supporting emerging professionals. Your investment in my education and development means more than words can express, and I hope to one day pay it forward by helping others as you have helped me.
With deepest gratitude,
Giulia Ingribello"
Layla Gallant
Layla’s athletic journey takes her from local clubs to provincial representation. She’s spent seven years in track & field with Thorold Elite, and the past three years playing flag football with the Niagara Nitros, including competing for Team Ontario at Nationals this past May. At Thorold Secondary, she played nearly every school sport - from basketball to volleyball to soccer - illustrating her love for activity and teamwork.
This fall, Layla will head to Villa Maria University in Buffalo to study Sports Management, while playing both flag football and basketball at the collegiate level. She’s bubbling with excitement about stepping into this next chapter, and the training at Iron Performance will give her the strength and confidence to meet the demands of playing two sports in college.
A message from Layla:
"My name is Layla Gallant, and I just wanted to say a huge thank you for selecting me as a recipient of the Erion Insurance Athletic Performance Training Grant. I'm super grateful for this opportunity and really excited to make the most of it.
I've been involved in sports for most of my life, track and field with Thorold Elite for the past 7 years and flag football with the Niagara Nitros for the last 3. This past May, I also had the chance to represent Team Ontario at Nationals for flag football, which was such an amazing experience. Throughout high school at Thorold Secondary, I played almost every school sport! could, from basketball to volleyball to soccer and more. I've always loved staying active, competing, and being part of a team.
This fall, I'll be heading to Villa Maria University in Buffalo, where I've committed to play both flag football and basketball, and I'll be studying Sports Management. Training at Iron Performance is going to be a huge help in getting me ready for college-level sports. It's a chance to push myself, stay focused, and walk into this next chapter feeling strong and confident.
Thank you again for supporting athletes like me. It really does make a difference, and I'll definitely carry everything I learn from this with me.
Sincerely,
Layla Gallant"
