By now, you know that we’re your trusted companion, but it’s important to us that you know just who you’re connecting with when dealing with important insurance matters. Our first employee feature is Lara Sobchishin from our Fort Erie office - who put her dreams of being a National Geographic Photographer on hold to pursue a career as an Insurance Advisor - and we’re thankful every day that she did!

How do you take your coffee? With gratitude! (and a little skim milk)

Favourite Pastime: Long walks, hanging out with family & friends, travelling and planning our next trip

Why insurance? Why not?! A friend worked in RSA claims and encouraged me to apply to a role in the commercial underwriting department. The rest is history.

Hobbies: Reading, working out, listening to music, re-learning how to play piano, daydreaming about going back to Italy.

Favourite hangout spot in Fort Erie/Grimsby? Niagara Parkway, walking along the river in Fort Erie.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I was all over the place! Journalist, lawyer, brain surgeon, National Geographic photographer, travel agent, doctor, and editor are just some of them!

Favourite, fun insurance fact: Starbucks pays more for employee health insurance than it pays for coffee.

What is your most treasured possession? My relationships, memories & experiences.

Have you any hidden talents? I can spot a typo a mile away. NOT getting cavities - I’ve never had one! Falling down the stairs while vacuuming. Making grilled cheese sandwiches.

How would you describe your job to a second grader? I help people be okay if something bad happens to their stuff.

If you could teach Schooner a trick, what would it be? Go fetch me a glass of wine!
